Conscious Connected Breathwork with Michelle

You've talked about it. Your body is still holding it.

Conscious Connected Breathwork with Michelle — laying on a mat, breathing in a specific rhythm. It works one layer below the story.

Breathwork session with Michelle Robertson
"I think that was 20 yrs of therapy in 30 mins for me! I think I'll be saying that forever. The emotion that came out of me I had no idea was even there. I've just been carrying it around like a backpack. Thank you Michelle. I think you're incredible at what you do and I wouldn't be surprised if this explodes. You have a gift."
— Katy B.

You can name your patterns and tell your story clearly. You've probably read the books. Done the journaling — maybe even the 40-day practices and the retreats.

And still — something carries on in your body. The tightness in your chest before a hard conversation. The 3 a.m. wake-up. The way stress lands in your shoulders or your jaw and doesn't leave. You've worked on this. You're still working on it. But the talking has taken you as far as it can.

Breathwork goes somewhere else.

What this is

Laying on a mat and breathing — it's that simple.

Conscious Connected Breathwork is a specific, guided rhythm — inhale, inhale, exhale, repeated for the full session while you lie down and I guide you through it. No experience required. No particular belief system. The physiology does the work.

The breath activates your parasympathetic nervous system, floods your body with oxygen, and begins to move what's stored there. Emotions, memories, physical tension — things you can't always reach through conversation — become accessible. Some people cry. Some people laugh. Some people feel a tingling in their hands, a release in their chest, a calm they haven't felt in years. Most people feel something shift.

What breathwork can do

What happens in the body — and why it matters.

Lower stress, quickly

Conscious breathing activates the parasympathetic nervous system — the body's rest-and-digest mode — dropping cortisol levels and calming the stress response faster than most interventions.

More energy and clarity

Flooding the body with oxygen through rhythmic breathing clears mental fog and increases cellular energy. Many people leave a session feeling more alert and present than they have in months.

Better sleep, mood, and digestion

A regulated nervous system regulates everything downstream — including the gut-brain connection, sleep quality, and emotional baseline. These aren't side effects. They're the point.

Release old tension

The body stores what we don't process. Breathwork creates a physiological window to move it — not by talking about it, but by breathing through it. The vagus nerve is involved. So is your whole history.

Why I do this

I found breathwork when I needed something that could reach where talking couldn't.

I'd done my own work — years of it. Coaching, therapy, reading, retreats. I knew myself well. I could describe my patterns with precision. And I still had this thing that lived in my body that I couldn't seem to talk my way out of.

I found breathwork, and in one session, something shifted that hadn't moved in twenty years. Not metaphorically — physiologically. I felt it happen. I went home and cried for an hour and slept like I was twelve years old.

I got certified to share it — not because it's trendy, but because it works, and I want the women I work with to have access to it. This is the most powerful thing I've added to my practice.

Trained by the best

Certified in a specific, structured method — by one of its foremost teachers.

I'm trained and certified by Jon Paul Crimi, one of the most respected breathwork facilitators in the world. His method is specific, structured, and evidence-informed — not a loose collection of breathwork techniques, but a particular approach that produces consistent results.

Jon Paul's work has been featured in the New York Times, Vogue, and on major television programs. He's worked with celebrities, athletes, and executives. What he teaches is grounded in the nervous system — and it's what I bring to every session.

Hoda Kotb has spoken openly about her own experience with circular breathwork — including in this interview on The Drew Barrymore Show. The breathwork moment comes around the 3:30 mark.

Hear what Hoda Kotb has to say about Circular Breathwork — at ~3:30 minutes.

"Her certification in a special type of breathwork is the perfect compliment to her coaching — you absolutely HAVE to experience it."

Is this for you?

This is for you if...

You don't have to be in crisis. You don't have to be spiritual. You don't have to have done breathwork before.

This is for you if...

  • •You're curious about what breathwork actually is, and you want to experience it safely with a trained facilitator.
  • •You've done talk therapy or coaching and want to try something that works at a different level.
  • •You carry stress in your body — tension, tightness, disrupted sleep — and you want a tool that actually addresses the nervous system.
  • •You're open to something that might surprise you.

This is not for you right now if...

  • —You have a heart condition, epilepsy, or seizure disorder.
  • —You are pregnant.
  • —You have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or another condition that involves psychosis or mania.
  • —You are in active trauma processing with a therapist and they have advised you to avoid activating practices.

If you're not sure whether this applies to you, send me a note before you book. I'd rather answer a question than have you sit out something that might have been right for you.

Before you book

A few things to know first.

Breathwork is powerful, and it's not right for everyone. Please read this before you register.

The following conditions mean breathwork is not recommended, or requires conversation before we proceed. Please reach out before booking if any of these apply to you:

  • • Cardiovascular conditions (heart disease, history of heart attack, abnormal heart rhythms)
  • • High blood pressure that is not well-controlled
  • • Epilepsy or history of seizures
  • • History of aneurysm
  • • Pregnancy
  • • Glaucoma or detached retina
  • • Recent surgery or major physical injury (within the last 6 months)
  • • Severe asthma or COPD (moderate asthma may be fine — please ask)
  • • Active psychosis, mania, or untreated bipolar disorder
  • • Schizophrenia
  • • Diagnosis of dissociative identity disorder or severe dissociation

If you have a trauma history, breathwork can be a profound tool — and it can also be activating. I work with trauma-sensitive facilitation, and I want to support you well. If you're currently in active trauma processing with a therapist, please check in with them before booking, and feel free to send me a note.

When in doubt — ask. My inbox is open. I'd rather answer a question than have someone sit out something that was right for them, or push forward with something that wasn't.

Common questions

Things people ask before they book.

No. Most people who come to a session have never done breathwork before. You'll receive full instructions before we begin, and I guide you through the entire session. The only thing you need to bring is yourself and a willingness to breathe.

It varies by person and session. Common experiences include tingling in the hands or face, waves of emotion, a feeling of warmth or expansion in the chest, spontaneous tears or laughter, and a deep calm afterward. Some people have profound releases. Some have a quieter, more integrative experience. Both are valid. The breath takes you where you need to go.

Conscious Connected Breathwork uses a specific continuous rhythm — inhale, inhale, exhale, repeated — that creates a physiological shift in your nervous system. It's more active than most meditation practices, and the effects tend to be faster and more physical. You're working with the body directly, not just the mind.

For most people, yes — and that's exactly why the contraindications section exists. I'm trained to facilitate safely, to recognize when someone needs grounding, and to guide the experience in a way that supports integration. If you have any of the conditions listed above, reach out before booking.

Yes. Group classes on Zoom work. The physiological mechanism doesn't require us to be in the same room — your breath does the work. I guide you through the entire session, and we connect briefly before and after. Many people prefer starting with a Zoom session.
